So the new site is launched.  And happily, we’ve gotten some really great feedback.  Now that it’s down to actually having to post a blog post over there, I’m not sure on some of the steps.  (It’s totally different than here.)

So for now, I’m going to post here, and have Scott fix it later.  I have to sit down and figure out everything when I’m not running in four directions.  Maybe a tall order before the holidays.

Here’s a piece for today…

the kingdom… (best seen hereand eventually here) ugh.

I’ve also added a Facebook brand page.  I’ll be sharing links and art that’s not anywhere else over there.  I’m thinking of a Follow Friday? Posting out other artist’s websites and pages.  I’ve already been told it’s silly to point people in the direction of other artists, but I’m all about community.  So if you’re interested, come on over…I’m Here.  Let me know what your page is, we can figure it out.

Okay, have a great day guys…I hope the weather is being good to you, and that everything is wonderful!

I hit maximum capacity last Thursday I think.  Just too much.

I still made this on Friday.

forgotten…  (best seen here)

Recently my new friend Graham suggested I be kinder to myself.  In all honesty, finally allowing myself to work at a steady pace is the kindest thing I’ve done for myself in a very long time.  It is what I thrive on in every way.

That said, the rest of my life has become much more chaotic than I ever thought possible.  I have very little control of some situations and I’m trying very hard to figure out how to come to terms with all aspects of my new life.  I didn’t figure anything out over the past 4 days.  I just rolled with the waves.  In the floating and rolling I’m realizing I need to make real choices and not passively allow things to toss me around.

Blah! That makes me just want to grab my camera and wander away, or submerse myself into the images…and sometimes just stay under the covers.

Over the weekend I went shooting just a bit.  It’s the end of autumn here and the leaves are losing their brilliance.  I got some great shots…one was this one…which I played with just a bit.

I hope you like them…

I may not be blogging every day.  I have so many commitments at this point, and I need the website to be at the top of the list.  We’re making it pretty beautiful, I’m so excited for you to see it!  Please forgive me for the lack of comments.  I swear, this happens in a matter of minutes.  I want to give you more than that when I actually talk to you.  Thank you so, so much for stopping by my little corner of the world.  It means more than you know!

Every day I type in at least one calendar day off.  Every.  Single.  Day.  sigh.

I hope you’re all having a great day!  This is Mystic.  I think it might be a personal favorite.  It was shot on Sunday with the one with cows below.  I did sketches, then used Painter and Photoshop to bring it where it is.  Today was my running everywhere day.  I will probably give you an older piece tomorrow, unless a miracle of time occurs.  But even if it does, then I can work on comments and a post about all of you, and how wonderful your blogs are!

Have a wonderful evening, I’ll see you tomorrow!

I apologize, but this is a drive by posting.  It’s the weekend…but I didn’t post yesterday, they day got ahead of me.  This is a new piece.  I played with all kinds of things.  It only exists in my head…like lots of thing I suppose.

the silo…

Really seen best here.  (Please, if you’re on flickr, feel free to add me.)

I hope you’re all having a great weekend.  I will catch up Monday with award stuff, comments, everything.  Until then, take care!

Happy Halloween everyone!  For my Wiccan friends, Blessed All Hallows and Happy New Year!

from 2010, reworked. ghost…

Today, like yesterday is a little full.  I have some wonderful comments that I want to address and still, John’s lovely nomination to fulfill.  I had hopes of a post with multiple new images today, but I have too many left undone.  I may have something more true to the holiday a bit later today if I can get it done…if not, dark and mysterious works for me just about any time.  I hope to get the comments and new nomination post by tonight.

This is a mulitple exposure of Marina City in Chicago.  I did only the smallest bit in Photoshop, the rest was in Painter X3.  Since the new cloud requirements, I’m looking for other editing software…not that my CS6 will be obsolete anytime soon, I just don’t think I want to ‘rent’ software.

marina city, in chicago…

I hope you all have a happy and safe evening.  Watch for the little gouls and keep your animals in and safe, pretty please?  Hopefully I’ll still get another post in today…

There are days when I am so excited about this whole project and days that it’s completely overwhelming.  I feel the entire arena of art has changed with the economy and that what was once a comparatively  intimate group of creative and quirky individuals that was something like a dysfunctional family (you can talk trash about any one of them, but don’t let anyone else say a word!) has become something everyone on the internet is suddenly  doing.  How does anyone compete with that?

I remember when having a 35mm film camera was a luxury that most people didn’t even waste their time with.  Now everyone carries a phone that is probably as good as my last film camera, if not better.  (Though I still maintain that film will always be more beautiful…especially black and white film.)  You can have a camera for a year and suddenly you’re hanging a shingle.  Not that’s it’s all good, in fact, a lot of it makes the crafts-person in me cringe ever so slightly.  It makes me cringe more when people pay for it.  That said, good for the artist who can convince people that something that took 10 minutes to put together is worth $30 or $40.  Meh…whatever.

I guess what I’m saying is it’s completely intimidating to be jumping back in as the internet becomes more and more swollen with ‘artists’.  I think that’s why I bring up the lost work so much.  I don’t want someone thinking I just crawled out of the woodwork with everyone else.  This has been my life.  I irritated the hell out of my parents before I was a teen by taking art shots with my 110 camera and making them spend the money to develop them. (And then I had to endure the interrogating “WHY did you take pictures of THAT? – I never could explain that one exactly.)

I was drawing pictures of the birthday greeting cards I got since I was 10. (I know it was 10 because I still have both the pictures and the cards)  I want to set myself apart, and not sound like a complete doofus in the process.  How do you even do that now??

Yep…that’s a rant for today.

This is today’s pic.  Another piece working on the integration of Painter and Photoshop.  It’s pretty basic, but I was working a lot with blending tones between the two.  I love this part…the learning.  It never gets old, and the hours fly by…

tilted barn…

I hope you’re all having an amazing day.  Take care!

Happy Saturday!  Not a lot to say…it’s cold and raining, so we’re working on the website and trying to get some things locked down.  This is another crow…there will probably be a lot of them in the end.  I have buildings and some city stuff in the works too.

crow…

I hope you’re all having a great day!
