So the new site is launched.  And happily, we’ve gotten some really great feedback.  Now that it’s down to actually having to post a blog post over there, I’m not sure on some of the steps.  (It’s totally different than here.)

So for now, I’m going to post here, and have Scott fix it later.  I have to sit down and figure out everything when I’m not running in four directions.  Maybe a tall order before the holidays.

Here’s a piece for today…

the kingdom… (best seen hereand eventually here) ugh.

I’ve also added a Facebook brand page.  I’ll be sharing links and art that’s not anywhere else over there.  I’m thinking of a Follow Friday? Posting out other artist’s websites and pages.  I’ve already been told it’s silly to point people in the direction of other artists, but I’m all about community.  So if you’re interested, come on over…I’m Here.  Let me know what your page is, we can figure it out.

Okay, have a great day guys…I hope the weather is being good to you, and that everything is wonderful!

Yesterday was a big day, and not entirely a good one.  I had my twitter account hacked, and had hundreds of bad posts added in just a day or so, not to mention hundreds of new people I was following…most of them unsavory.  Yay.  Then, in the afternoon I found out that a once close friend from Serbia had died.  I was dumbfounded to say the least.  I plan on doing a memorial post to him…he was an astounding photographer, and a dear friend.

This is probably one of the last character only paints I’ll do.  I’m feeling pretty confident with people at this point.  I’d like to start integrating more into the image…environment and other elements.  We’ll see…I look forward to your feedback.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving in the states.  I don’t know how crazy it will be, but I’ll try to stop in with some work.  I hope you all have a wonderful day, and a safe weekend.  Everything is covered in a fluffy white blanket today, it’s actually pretty beautiful.

Hi!  It’s Wednesday.  It’s cold.  I’m doing people.  Like this one…

overheard plans… (best seen here)

For awhile now I’ve had this story in my head.  I doubt if it will ever come to be, but sometimes I get on a kick where I work on it.  It’s had lots of variations, and it’s always a generally about two families, both of which are Irish.  So over the past couple of years I’ve collected images of Irish looking people.  (I’m Scotch/Irish, don’t get obnoxious please.)  :p

Anyway, there might be another next time, I am working on a man.  I hope you all like this stuff.  I’m trying to keep moving upward.  It’s so much fun to be here…I kind of wish I could just jump in and have time stop, and just be allowed to be immersed for awhile.

Happy happy day everyone!  Please take care?

I think things get tense in the late autumn.  Everyone here is mourning the summer, realizing they’ll be in the house, stepping over each other or hibernating for the next few months. My son and I are summer people.  It’s just the way it is.  Don’t judge me, I get enough of that from the people here.

This was a photograph, gone digital painting.  It was bright and brilliant to begin with, but this fit my mood today.  Sorry, it’s just the way things go sometimes.

I’m not doing links today, probably tomorrow.  I hope you all have a great weekend!

Happy Halloween everyone!  For my Wiccan friends, Blessed All Hallows and Happy New Year!

from 2010, reworked. ghost…

Today, like yesterday is a little full.  I have some wonderful comments that I want to address and still, John’s lovely nomination to fulfill.  I had hopes of a post with multiple new images today, but I have too many left undone.  I may have something more true to the holiday a bit later today if I can get it done…if not, dark and mysterious works for me just about any time.  I hope to get the comments and new nomination post by tonight.

This is a mulitple exposure of Marina City in Chicago.  I did only the smallest bit in Photoshop, the rest was in Painter X3.  Since the new cloud requirements, I’m looking for other editing software…not that my CS6 will be obsolete anytime soon, I just don’t think I want to ‘rent’ software.

marina city, in chicago…

I hope you all have a happy and safe evening.  Watch for the little gouls and keep your animals in and safe, pretty please?  Hopefully I’ll still get another post in today…

Yesterday was a complete bust.  Everything I did was just wrong.  I finally gave up, leaving three pieces in limbo and went to watch webinars on painter and photoshop.

I know there are days like that, and that the well can’t always be overflowing, but at this early stage it seems like I should have tons of ideas and creativity.

Today was better.  Last night my friend Lionel from Kilifori Studios (yes, yes, go see him, he’s brilliant in advertising, and a great guy!) sent me a link to the work of Meindert Hobbema (Dutch Renaissance) which was just what the doctor ordered for an awe factor.  Today, I’m back to work, thankfully.

This isn’t a landscape piece, but a photograph that I painstakingly painted, only to have it upload and look nothing like I think it should.  I’m going to calibrate the monitor, but I’ve been reading that when you upload to flickr now it’s changing things.  I’m not thrilled.  As soon as the website is live, I’ll keep the work there.

I want to thank you all for continuing to visit, and for your comments and follows.  I’m humbled by the whole thing more than you know!  Not to mention something amazing that my new friend John from Doug Does Life did for me, which I’m still trying to figure out how to process, let alone deal with…give me a day or two.

Things are beginning to take more than a day to finish.  I’m relieved about that.  I’m moving on, and up.  I hope you’ll keep stopping in to see the process.

More wires.  Just for fun.  I just liked the way they turned out.  Sorry so late today, I’m not myself.  I hope to be more lively tomorrow.

I hope you’re all having a lovely day!  xo

We’re getting close to having the website go live.  I’m more excited than I can even tell you!  Though I had a small site, I never understood how to make it what I wanted, so I’ve waited years for this.  You’ll be probably the third to know…because I have to tell my friends first…just to see if I have embarrassing typos, or some other silliness…

wires in a small town…

Today’s shot was made here locally.  I wish I had done tons more because that whole area is changing.  I’m happy I got what I did though, I could have nothing at all…

Have a great day!  xo

Happy Saturday!  Not a lot to say…it’s cold and raining, so we’re working on the website and trying to get some things locked down.  This is another crow…there will probably be a lot of them in the end.  I have buildings and some city stuff in the works too.

I hope you’re all having a great day!

I told you yesterday that we’re working on a new site.  For the last week or so I’ve been trying to decide on logos.  This is where I’m at right now.  I like the font, I like the birds, I’m not entirely sure about the layout.  You’ll probably be seeing more before it’s all over.

fourcrows art logo, for now.

I am also doing facebook business page, because all my wonderful friends have been putting up with this posting to their timelines long enough.  I’ll link it when it’s done.  I’m using this logo for the moment.

Today for your daily painting I’m going to show you a piece I’ve been working on for awhile.  It’s a complete paint and one of my favorites to date.  Obviously it’s one of my crows, but it’s hugely personal that I got him done.  There’s so many stories behind the crows.  I’ll share some of them one of these days.  For now, I’m keeping the posts short.  I don’t want to bore you to death before I even get your attention.  So here’s my boy.  Totem.  Because that’s what he is.

Have a wonderful and safe weekend.  I may post, but weekends have been so busy.  Winter’s coming.  I’ll have lots of images for you then.  Thank you for stopping by!
