It’s Friday!  And I am so behind!

…such is life.

This is a dairy barn I shot a few weeks ago while Scott and I were wandering around Michigan.  I’m working on techniques and while I’m not always completely happy with the outcome…like this one, I am learning new ways to alter the images.  I keep thinking that at one point it’s all going to come together in my head and will make for some awesome work.

dairy barn…

I hope you all have a great weekend!  I’m going to catch up on emails and comments today.  I’m so sorry if I’ve left you hanging…I blame the head cold, which isn’t true, I’ve just been going in too many directions, but it sounds better.

More wires.  Just for fun.  I just liked the way they turned out.  Sorry so late today, I’m not myself.  I hope to be more lively tomorrow.

I hope you’re all having a lovely day!  xo

It’s Wednesday already!  This is an older piece I had that I reworked a bit.  It’s entirely done in Painter with a little post process in photoshop.

I hope you’re all having a great week.  I’ve been both sick and busy.  woot.

We’re getting close to having the website go live.  I’m more excited than I can even tell you!  Though I had a small site, I never understood how to make it what I wanted, so I’ve waited years for this.  You’ll be probably the third to know…because I have to tell my friends first…just to see if I have embarrassing typos, or some other silliness…

wires in a small town…

Today’s shot was made here locally.  I wish I had done tons more because that whole area is changing.  I’m happy I got what I did though, I could have nothing at all…

Have a great day!  xo

Monday is my crazy running day, and the only day I allow myself to play on the computer before 5.  I do social media and silliness.  It’s all good, except I didn’t actually paint or work today. Not on art anyway.  So I’m giving you this, shot and worked a couple of weeks back.  It’s my last wave to summer, which I’m already mourning.  The heat is running today, and there is snow in the forecast for Wednesday through Friday.  I’m not thrilled.

forest path. a little tilt/shift going on, purely by accident…

Happy Saturday!  Not a lot to say…it’s cold and raining, so we’re working on the website and trying to get some things locked down.  This is another crow…there will probably be a lot of them in the end.  I have buildings and some city stuff in the works too.

I hope you’re all having a great day!

I told you yesterday that we’re working on a new site.  For the last week or so I’ve been trying to decide on logos.  This is where I’m at right now.  I like the font, I like the birds, I’m not entirely sure about the layout.  You’ll probably be seeing more before it’s all over.

fourcrows art logo, for now.

I am also doing facebook business page, because all my wonderful friends have been putting up with this posting to their timelines long enough.  I’ll link it when it’s done.  I’m using this logo for the moment.

Today for your daily painting I’m going to show you a piece I’ve been working on for awhile.  It’s a complete paint and one of my favorites to date.  Obviously it’s one of my crows, but it’s hugely personal that I got him done.  There’s so many stories behind the crows.  I’ll share some of them one of these days.  For now, I’m keeping the posts short.  I don’t want to bore you to death before I even get your attention.  So here’s my boy.  Totem.  Because that’s what he is.

totem…

Have a wonderful and safe weekend.  I may post, but weekends have been so busy.  Winter’s coming.  I’ll have lots of images for you then.  Thank you for stopping by!

somewhere in Detroit…

I’m not sure if it was Scott or I that shot this.  I think I did it while he was driving along one of the back streets the last time we went to Detroit.

I’m struggling with deciding on a ‘topic’ (as it were I suppose) to focus within as my new work.  I have an eternal love of architecture.  I love the angles and the lines.  I love the stories it implies.

I also love the country side.  I love naked trees and old barns.  (Maybe it’s the time of year, but I want to go shoot every creepy thing I can even imagine.  If I can’t shoot it, I want to create it from scratch!)  I love fields and meadows, birds and mountains, country roads and rickety fences.

Scott is putting together a spectacular new website.  I’m blown away by it’s beauty and it’s promise.  I just have to figure out how to populate it.  I’m hoping that I can fit all sides of my new work into it’s guidelines.

Anyway, I’m rambling.  It’s been so good meeting some of you.  Between here and Linkedin I’ve made so many new friends! I’d love to get to know everyone that’s stopped by with a like or a comment!  I want to yell “Hey, you!  Yes, you!  I saw you stopped by, THANK YOU!!”

So thank you all for including me now and again in your days.  I hope it’s always worth it.

Have a spectacular day!  xo

smokestack, Michigan City…

I’m so excited about working these days that I hardly want to leave the computer, let alone the house.  I’m making myself keep a bit of a schedule, but I still find myself totally immersed.  I can’t tell you how good that feels!

I hope you’re all having a great day!  Thanks so much for stopping by…

rooster…

Today’s piece is the first full paint I’ve done in a really long time.  I ended up adding a lot of texture because there’s a lot of issues I just didn’t like.    It looks really odd on the upload.  I think it’s time to recalibrate the monitor.  You get the idea though.  It was really just to see if I could do it.  I can, though I’ve forgotten a lot.  I’ll get there.

I hope you all are having a great day…thanks so much to everyone stopping by!  As soon as I get a tad bit less focused on relearning, I’ll be running around seeing what you’re all up to!
